Brandon's One Month Minicake

This minicakes are thank you gifts from Brandon's parents for their relatives and friends, on Brandon's one month celebration.
The tiger was to represent Brandon's chinese zodiac, and I asked the proud parents if they don't mind using a more modern colour scheme, rather than the classic blue-white for baby boys. I am glad we tried something more fun :)

Christening Cupcake for Patrick

It's Patrick's Christening day & Ana wanted to bring something as a gift for her baby nephew and his family to celebrate the event.
I suggested blue & white colour, and some Christian symbols for toppers... although it wasn't that easy to find those symbols that I can recreate on fondant!
So a couple of classic White Doves to represent the Holy Spirit...

The Five Bread and Two Fish that fed 5000 people...

and Patrick, the baby himself :)

I hope Ana & Patrick's family likes this!

Gemma's 1 Month Celebration Cuppies

These parcels of 6 cuppies were for Astrid's pretty babygirl, Gemma-Rose, who just turned 1 month old last February.
Colour theme was of course must be girlie, pink, white, and a touch of purple, and I was committed to make the colours as soft as possible...
I started by making all the baby figurines for the cupcake toppers, the heads & their curly hair, a piece of body and tiny feet just in case people decide to take a peek inside their towel wraps :D

After the main body part are done, then comes the hats and towel wraps... some in ivory and some in very soft baby pink.

Don't forget the safety pink made of metallic pink sugar balls.
Gemma's name written on pink heart shaped chocolate... the all packed in white box tied with soft babypink satin ribbon... Lovely!

Thank you Astrid, Gary & Gemma for making Cia's Cookies a part of your delighful celebration!

Baby Shower Cupcake for Astrid

My first baby shower cuppies project came from Astrid. She is expecting a baby girl and going to hold a baby shower to celebrate with her girlfriends.
We decided to have pink - white colour theme, and I added peach colour to accentuate some parts of the bottles, baby booties, and pacifiers toppers, all made of fondant.
The cuppies were also covered in fondant with pink sugar crystals on the edges.

They come in single plastic cases and tied with pink organza ribbon.
To come with the cupcakes, Astrid also had some lolly cookies on the same colour theme.
Overall I think they look pretty and cute, despite the poor pictures I took with my shaky hands :((

Hope all are well, Astrid, and I am sure the baby will be as pretty as her mummy!

Cookies to Welcome Fakhri!
Winda called me a few months ago with some inquiries on lolly cookies she saw when she visited Baby Adia. She called me again on a late Sunday afternoon, and ordered these lolly cookies to welcome her newborn baby boy, Fakhri. The cookies are for guests to take home as thank you gift, therefore Winda wants Fakhri's name written on them.

I jumped off my seat and run to the kitchen right away as Fakhri was born that morning, so his mum would need the cookies right away! Plus the fact that my family & I were going to go out of town on Tuesday morning, I would need to finish the cookies for Monday delivery.
Gathered the ingredients and utensils while my kids were napping, I worked on the dough and icing, and only stopped for a quick shower and dinner. Luckily my Mum stayed over before our vacation, she helped me taking care of the kids so I could finish the whole 30 cookies right on time to tuck them in their beds. Thanks Mum!!
Started decorating them overnight and only finished at about 2 in the morning, I couldn't do a fancier style (sorry Winda...) and got them all packed and ready by 3 a.m.

Got the cookie jars just before I drove to the hospital, and even wrap and tied the cookie bouquets in front of the new proud parents of beautiful baby Fakhri.
I hope Winda & Agus like the cookies despite the time constrained creation.

Adia : Welcome Baby Girl!

It was around the 3rd week of April. I got a text message from Onin , she wants 20 pieces of lolly cookies to welcome her niece who was due to be born around May 8th - 10th.
The theme is Baby Girl, so I did some samples and emailed them to my first official client.

Onin likes the comical expressions and pastels colours on the samples, and asked me to eliminates the bright colours. Agreed that it was a good idea, I was planning to do the shopping on May 2nd and get ready just in case Baby Adia decides to welcome herself to the world earlier than her parents had expected.
She did!
May 1st, early morning, got another text message from Onin: "I got a new niece, born 6.15 this morning!"
So there went a bit of chaos in my kitchen, sent my assistant to complete my shopping list at the nearby market, baked the cookies in 2 flavours, vanilla butter and chocolate, and I was ready to work with the icing by the time my kids hit their bed for afternoon nap.
It started to get disorganised when I found out that the icing looked funny. Turned out it was donut icing that the seller gave to me instead of icing sugar, so I had to make another batch in 6 different colours. Managed to draw on about 8 cookies, put them back in the oven to dry the icing and this time they all went lumpy and sticky!
I had lost 5 hours due to this icing problem and was to lose several more as I have to bake more cookies to make up the ones that I can't use, not to mention re-doing the icing, and still haven't done any of the decoration.
Despite of the stress, the long hours, and lesson learned the hard way, I am thankful for my husband's full support - he stayed up with me all night, helped me with the labels, served me the fries and burger :)
In the end, the cookies turned out nice and dainty and all finished on time to be handed to a happy customer the next morning.

Welcome Baby Adia ! Thank you Onin for the opportunity given to me, and thank you Adri for your love and support!
